Ken's Weekend/Festival Flyers |
As we approach the end of the year, it has been a very busy year for the Acey Deuceys. Our summer schedule was full of outstanding callers. Unfortunately, Ken was not able to call a dance. He tries every year to get a few in, but for all kinds of reasons, it just hasn’t worked out. The fall dancing has been fun, recently Bill Harrison and Red Bates called for us. On Halloween, Barry Clasper will be the caller. So, come dressed for the dance! The Acey Deuceys have been busy. Our revised schedule which we began in the summer is being utilized throughout the fall. It will be looked at for possible changes during the winter months when we lose our snow birds. Our C2 group has done really well, and everyone is dancing full C2 at this point.
Unfortunately, we do not have an A1 class this fall, but that will leave us with plenty of time to dance A2 and workshop. The Acey Deuceys have been traveling up a storm, Steve and Laurie Romanski just came back from a European Dance trip, Eric and Debby Baum just came back from a trip to South Africa and many dancers have traveled to dance weekends which included Mid Summer Dream festival, Dave Wilson’s "Take No prisoners", Tumbling Leaves, Summer magic and the Cherry Ridge festival.
On a sad note, we hate to see Dick and Lee Ellis retire from dancing, they are sorely missed. Dick and Lee have contributed so much to the Capital District throughout the years. We wish them well in their “retirement” from dancing.

My travel schedule has been brutal (in a fun way!). My travels this summer began with a two week trip to Germany in May, which was simply wonderful. I did a callers School and call for several clubs and specials for two weeks beginning in Munich and ending in Düsseldorf.
Other travels have taken me to Canada for a weekend with Sandie Bryant, to the national in Detroit where I was the Key Note Speaker, out to California a few times as well as conducting Callers Schools in Alabama, California and most recently in New Hampshire. My Cherry Ridge C2 Blitz Week was very successful, a small but enthusiastic group and everyone did an excellent job. The Cherry Ridge Festival went very well; next year Dave Wilson joins Todd and me which should be a fun weekend. In September, my travels took me to St.Louis to call for the Zig Zags and a very special trip to Russia! I had a wonderful time, the dancers and callers are so eager to learn. I conducted a callers School and called a couple of weekend special dances. I also managed to sneak in a calling trip to Seattle during September as well.
Some exciting news, I will have my first ever C3A Weekend next August at Cherry Ridge, dates are August 10-12, 2012.
Other upcoming events will be the April Adventure, a C1 Weekend in Plymouth Indiana with Darryl Lipscomb in April (of course), Todd and I will have our annual Memorial Day A2 Weekend at Cherry Ridge, and I will once again have the C2 Blitz Week at Cherry Ridge as well. Mark your calendars now!
